THE SURREALIST PALETTE The 1945 work Palette d’artiste surréalistepresented in “Les frontières de nos rêves ne sont plus les mêmes” will guide us as we experiment with certain visual aspects of the artistic practice of Paul-Émile Borduas.
GREAT URGES The painting Pulsions nouées VIII, 2008, byFrançois Lacasse, on view in the exhibition “Les frontières de nos rêves ne sont plus les mêmes,” will be the starting point as participants explore the world of colour in a new way.
MIXING IT UP The mixing of media and materials observed in Irene F. Whittome’s New Testament, 1982-1988, also presented in “Les frontières de nos rêves ne sont plus les mêmes,” will give participants an opportunity to create an irregularly shaped image made up of assembled elements and assorted materials.
Jacques Hurtubise’s eye-popping 1968 work Ciboulette, part of the exhibition With Glass, Under Glass, Without Glass, will give you a chance to spotlight your own creativity. In the Musée’s workshops, you will make a luminous image out of cellophane, featuring vibrant motifs. When held up to a window, your picture will reveal its dazzling, colourful transparency.
FURRY FEET The figures and curious masks seen in Jon Pylypchuk’s fantastical environments will lead participants to create strange figures of their own.
