Art Workshops and Tours
In the invention-friendly surroundings of the art workshops, participants give free rein to their imaginations by creating their own artworks inspired by a piece on display at the museum, while trying out different techniques, media and materials
The Musée’s interactive tours allow visitors to discover works in its Permanent Collection and temporary exhibitions. Conducted in an atmosphere conducive to discussion and open to questions, they provide an opportunity for discovery, learning and greater awareness about contemporary art.
Workshops and tours are offered for all age groups.

FIGURES IN THE LANDSCAPE

Anders Oinonen's Lake of the Woods, 2007, part of the exhibition Cubes, Blocks and Other Spaces, will guide participants as they paint enigmatic images in acrylic that conjure up both a face and a landscape, somewhere between the figurative and the abstract.

Jacques Hurtubise’s eye-popping work Ciboulette, 1968, will give you a chance to spotlight your own creativity. You will make a luminous image out of cellophane, featuring vibrant motifs. When held up to a window, your picture will reveal its dazzling, colourful transparency. The workshop will be preceded by a brief visit to the exhibition With Glass, Under Glass, Without Glass. The plays of transparency used by the artists in that show will provide the spark for the workshop.

ADULT ART WORKSHOPS CREATIVE TUESDAYS
Tuesdays, from 1:30 to 4 p.m.
Workshops for adults who want to add some creativity to their Tuesday afternoons. On the day of the activity, come to the museum a little earlier and you can visit the exhibitions free of charge (just show your workshop admission ticket). Cost: $12 per workshop.

The exhibition Les frontières de nos rêves ne sont plus les mêmes, marking the fiftieth anniversary of the death of Paul-Émile Borduas, will pay tribute to this leading figure in the history of modern art in Canada. Inspired by Borduas as well as other artists whose development he greatly influenced, this workshop offers an intriguing series of painting activities, with the emphasis on spontaneity and free expression.

This summer, the Musée offers day camps and daycares (ages 5 and up) the CIBOULETTE SUMMER COMBO.
The combo includes a guided exhibition tour followed by an art workshop.

The tour route and pedagogical approach vary according to the exhibition program, but are always tailored to the tour group’s grade level, from preschool through to university. The minimum age required is four. Tours last about one hour.
