Antonin Mousseau-Rivard, the grandson of a signatory of Refus global, was clearly cut out to be the chef-owner of the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal restaurant. Le Contemporain draws on the Automatist palette of Borduas, Riopelle and, of course, Mousseau for its inspiration, further enhanced by the skilful blend of flavours and unique personal touch of this young self-taught chef.

Tuesday to Friday: open for lunch from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Thursday, Friday and Saturday: open for dinner from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Just for Laughs Festival: July 12 to 26, 2014
Please note that during the Just for Laughs Festival, the Musée restaurant will be turned temporarily into the Club Charlot par le Contemporain, the Festival’s VIP restaurant-bistro-lounge.
During this time, it will not be possible to make reservations via the Musée website.
To access the Club Charlot, you will need a pass which is included in various packages offered by the Festival.
The Club Charlot will be open from July 12 to 26, from 5 p.m. to midnight.
The restaurant is located on the exhibition level (first floor) of the museum.
Access is through the main entrance, at 185 Sainte-Catherine Ouest.

On the first Friday of certain months, from 5 to 9 p.m., the Musée hosts the Friday Nocturnes, unique evenings that showcase emerging Montréal music. We recommend that you consult the Musée website or ask the restaurant staff to find out whether the evening’s musical ambience will be in harmony with the dinner you are planning.
