Musée Nocturnes
The first Friday evening of every month

Montréal, May 16, 2007. The Musée remixed. Nothing like its daytime face. On the first Friday evening of every month, the Musée d’art contemporain will offer a Nocturne from 6 to 9 p.m., with bar, live music and exhibition “clips.”

Starting June 1, 2007, the Musée will be open late on the first Friday of every month, for an evening where you can count on the unexpected. The basic idea is suspense: live music revealed only on the night of the Nocturne itself; exhibition “clips”: speed tours of a random selection of works currently on view; and original drinks concocted by Mixoart & Fluid Flair — the art of bartending meets the science of cocktails.

For our first Friday, June 1: live music performed by DJ Champion and the four guitarists of his G-Strings / exhibition “clips” of Bruce Nauman / launch of the Nocturnes cocktail.

After that, there’s no point calling, writing or paying anyone off: you have to show up in person to get the scoop. Nocturnes—a different way to visit the museum and connect with today’s art, for those for whom taking chances is a state of mind.

No reservation necessary. Admission with regular Musée ticket or our new WIRED card, on sale for $10.

The Musée d'art contemporain is a provincially owned corporation funded by the Ministère de la Culture et des Communications du Québec. It receives additional funding from the Department of Canadian Heritage and the Canada Council for the Arts, as well as from Lichen Communications.
