The Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal is a provincially owned corporation funded by the Ministère de la Culture et des Communications du Québec. It receives additional funding from the Department of Canadian Heritage and the Canada Council for the Arts.
Collection Loto-Québec is the principal partner of the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal for a period of five years (2011−2015). Under the sponsorship agreement with the MACM, Collection Loto-Québec will contribute $100,000 per year throughout the partnership period. The agreement also specifies that Collection Loto-Québec will be the presenter of the Québec Triennial 2011 and the Biennale de Montréal 2014.
This fine partnership also gives the public a voice. The agreement includes a program devoted to the next generation, which awards $10,000 to the artist whose work has been chosen by Musée visitors. The Loto-Québec People’s Choice Award will be handed out at the contemporary art Triennial and Biennial in 2011 and 2014.
